You might think that the nicer something is, the harder it is to get. Thankfully, that isn\u2019t the case for dentistry, especially when it comes to veneers<\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you want to reshape your teeth completely, your dentist can use veneers to do that within as few as two appointments. If you have a hard time believing that it can be that easy, here\u2019s a step-by-step guide to what you\u2019ll need to do to get veneers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Step 1: Making a Plan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The first thing most prospective patients do is to have a consultation with their dentist. If you decide that veneers are a good idea, you and your dentist will craft a treatment plan based on your unique needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your teeth need to be healthy and free of decay before getting veneers, so part of your treatment plan may entail dealing with any ongoing oral health problems before getting veneers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 2: Preparing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Once your teeth are ready, you and your dentist will talk about what you want your veneers to look like. This will include deciding on the preferred color, shape, and number of veneers that you want. Your dentist will make careful note of what you choose and will send these designs to a lab for manufacture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At this appointment, they\u2019ll usually also prepare your teeth for the veneers, which involves removing a microscopic sliver of your enamel to make room for them. This leads to\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 3: Temporary Veneers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Once that enamel has been removed, you\u2019ll need something to protect your teeth in its stead. Your permanent veneers will be able to do this once they\u2019re ready, but until then, you\u2019ll need to wear a set of temporary veneers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These will be made of acrylic and will be crafted to resemble what your final veneers are meant to look like. This will not only protect your teeth but will give you an opportunity to see if you would like to make any adjustments. You can talk with your dentist, who will pass these changes on to the lab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 4: Placement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Once your veneers come in a few weeks later, you\u2019ll see your dentist for their placement. They\u2019ll remove your temporary veneers, clean your teeth, then use a specialized adhesive to hold the veneers permanently in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And that\u2019s it! After just two appointments, you can get a smile considerably better than the one you had before. Considering how simple it is, there isn\u2019t much standing between you and the teeth you\u2019ve always wanted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
