Tooth Extractions

The loss of a single tooth can have a major impact upon your oral health and appearance, which is why it is important to always practice good oral hygiene. Although we will use every measure possible to prevent tooth loss, there are still times when a tooth needs to be extracted.

A tooth may need to be extracted if the following occurs:
  • • Severe decay
  • • Advanced gum disease
  • • Infection or abscess
  • • Orthodontic correction
  • • Malpositioned teeth
  • • Fractured teeth or roots
  • • Impacted teeth

After careful examination and treatment, we may advise to have a tooth extracted. Before a tooth is removed, we will take an x-ray to review the shape and position of the tooth and surrounding bone. Throughout the extraction process, we will do everything we can to make your procedure as smooth and pain-free as possible.
