With so many technological advances, it is no longer necessary for patients to suffer with a smile that they perceive as flawed. Dr. Patterson and Dr. Votilla have undergone extensive training in the area of Dento-Facial Aesthetics. There are so many possibilities for patients today. Whitening, veneers, Invisalign®, implants, Botox and Juvederm are just a few examples of treatments available to our patients.
Teeth whitening can subtract years from a person’s appearance. The effects of this cosmetic procedure can be dramatic, visually and internally. Many of our whitening patients report a sense of confidence and self esteem they haven’t experienced before. While there are over-the-counter whitening kits available at drugstores, the effectiveness of these is minimal compared to professionally supervised whitening.
Developed by orthodontists, Invisalign is The Clear Alternative to Braces®. Clear removable aligners gradually move the teeth, and virtually no one will notice them. Invisalign is an ultra-modern system for straightening teeth. It’s ideal for our adult patients who need or wish to have straighter teeth without the traditional metal brackets. Unlike brackets and bands, the aligners can be removed to allow proper brushing and flossing.
Dental implants are by far the most advanced treatment available for the problem of missing teeth. And best of all, they provide a permanent solution. Dental implants are an excellent solution to many problems caused by missing teeth. They preserve jaw structure, look natural and function just like real teeth.
Bonding is one of the most conservative ways for our patients to correct imperfections on the surface of the teeth, as well as close spaces and repair “chips”. The latest bonding materials are extremely durable and allow for precise color matching, making them virtually impossible to detect in your smile.
Since its approval by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2002 for treatment of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows, the use of Botox injections has soared in popularity. Botox works by blocking the chemical that creates wrinkle-causing muscle contractions. It’s most frequently used in the upper 1/3 of the face to remove wrinkles from the forehead, frown lines between the eyebrows and crow’s feet at the outside corners of the eyes. We also use it for some of our patients who experience severe headaches.
Whereas Botox blocks contractions, Juvederm works by improving skin’s elasticity and firmness. Juvederm is an injectable filler that contains hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of the body which helps create the smooth and supple appearance of skin. The body’s production of hyaluronic acid decreases with age and can be beautifully augmented using dermal fillers.
